This drawing look sad.. why are they staring at the moon? what happen?
ReplyDeletewhen i look at this picture, it make me imagine of that is a mom and a child, their father pass away on the full moon day, so when it is full moon again, they look at the moon and miss their loved one. so sad..:(
They are looking at the cloud in front of the moon...it is an eagle cloud and an omen...for what I don't know. Your interpretation is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI looked at this again tonight...with your interpretation I can see them looking for something lost and maybe that's in the image of the eagle cloud... who knows, maybe it's the spirit of someone who is gone that is communicating through this lonely cloud moving across the night sky.
ReplyDeleteI think this is really good narrative illustration - because it makes you wonder what the story is, really gets your mind ticking and that's the whole point. The lovely linework puts me in mind of work by my favourite illustrator, Kay Nielsen (from 100 years ago!)
